Airway Dentistry FAQs
Airway Dentistry is a whole body approach to treating your mouth, focusing on the airway, jaw, and teeth, and how these structures develop over time.
Airway dentistry treatment supports better breathing. In turn, this will lead to better sleep, healthier growth, and improved overall wellness.
Your child may need airway dentistry if they:
- Snore or breathe loudly during sleep
- Breathe with their mouths
- Have restless sleep
- Have dark circles under the eyes or daytime tiredness
- Bedwetting past the usual age
- Delayed speech development
- Crowded or crooked teeth at an early age
- Chronic allergies, ear infections, or enlarged tonsils/adenoids
- Want to prevent sleep apnea
If your child has one or two of these symptoms, it does not necessarily indicate that your child needs airway dentistry treatment, but if multiple of these symptoms are present it is recommended that you book a consultation.
Airway dentistry for kids is for children ages 3-12, because treatment is the most effective during early development ages, and can make the biggest difference while your child is still growing.
Airway dentistry for adults can also be effective, particularly for adults with sleep apnea.
The VIVOS Oral Appliance is:
- FDA registered Class I device
- Safe and effective for over 50 years
- May reduce the need for braces later
- A non-invasive method for guiding tooth and jaw development
Prices for treatment will vary.
