Atkins & Anderson DDS is excited to now offer Invisalign to our patients. We love this product because it gives our patients confidence and pride in their smile. This increased self-esteem can have profound effects. Read on for a better understanding of Invisalign and learn what clear aligners can do for your smile!
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a system of clear aligners that work to move teeth into the most ideal position. Invisalign is an aesthetic alternative to conventional braces - the aligners are clear and largely unnoticeable.
The straight teeth achieved by Invisalign have more than cosmetic benefits. When teeth are in the correct place, they function the most effectively. Your teeth bite together thousands of times a day when you chew and talk, and especially if you clench and grind them. If your teeth do not bite together properly, harm can be done over time. This can lead to your teeth wearing down abnormally, your gums receding, and even your teeth fracturing. Our goal is to correctly align your teeth to protect them from damage.
What does the Invisalign process entail?
The first step is a free consultation with one of our dentists. Following our discussion, we will take molds and pictures of your teeth and send them to the Invisalign lab to determine how we will move your teeth into the ideal position.
After finalizing your treatment plan, we will be able to digitally show you how your teeth will look once your treatment is complete. At this follow-up appointment, we will be able to tell you what to expect during your treatment and how long the treatment will last. Then your aligners will be made and you will be ready to start your treatment.
Am I a candidate for Invisalign?
While not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign, most people are! Whether you had braces in the past and your teeth have shifted or you have never had braces and are looking to redefine your smile, Invisalign could be the answer for you.
